MindShift
Delete your data
Last updated: 20 September 2026 · App: com.sagearbor.mindshift.app (also covers the Wear OS companion, com.sagearbor.gauge.wear)
In one line. Delete your whole MindShift account, and
everything under it, yourself — from inside the app, in about four taps. It
happens immediately. No email, no waiting period, nobody reading your request.
Delete your entire account, in the app
- Tap your profile picture (top right) and choose
Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom, to the Account section.
- Tap Delete my account. It opens in place and shows you
exactly what will be deleted.
- Type
DELETE in the box, then tap
Delete my account permanently.
You are signed out at the end, because there is no longer an account to be
signed in to. There is no undo, no grace period and no backup copy we can
restore from.
The same control is in the web version at
arborfam-hub.web.app — same place,
same steps — so you can do it from a browser without installing anything.
What gets deleted
- Your sign-in account itself.
- Every stored recording and session: audio, video, transcripts, analysis,
titles and speaker labels.
- Your voiceprint and every enrolled person's voice signature, plus every
individual voice sample.
- Every share you granted, and every session anyone shared with you.
- Your therapist link, in both directions — as a patient, and as a
therapist for anyone linked to you.
- Private notes you wrote on sessions, and the notes anyone wrote about
your sessions (see below).
- Unfinished uploads and queued analysis jobs.
- Watch pairings, watch live sessions — including their streamed audio and
your heart-rate readings — captures (a "Save last 2 min" or a Journal
snapshot), and group memberships.
- Diagnostic reports you sent from the app.
- Saved relationships, participants and text-tool sessions.
If any part of it cannot be completed, nothing is half-deleted:
your account is left exactly as it was, the app tells you so, and you can try
again. The one exception is the diagnostic reports — if only those fail to
delete, the account and everything in it still go, because a crash report you
chose to send us should never be the reason you cannot close your account.
Sessions you shared with a therapist
Sharing grants a view; it never hands over ownership. A session you recorded
is yours, so deleting your account deletes the session itself
and every grant that let anyone see it — the therapist's access ends because
the thing they had access to is gone.
The private notes that therapist wrote about that session are
deleted too. A note is an annotation on your conversation, and leaving one
behind would leave a record of what you said sitting under someone else's
account. Notes they wrote about anyone else's sessions, and everything else in
their account, are untouched — deleting your account never deletes any part of
theirs.
What does not get deleted, and why
- Videos in your own camera roll. Videos recorded in the app
are also saved to your phone's photo library. That copy is yours, on your
device — delete it from your gallery.
- A copy on someone else's phone. If you exported a session
or someone screenshotted it, we cannot reach that. This includes a therapist
you shared a session with: they can download it as a text file or PDF —
transcript and all — for a patient file, and a copy they already downloaded
stays theirs after your account is gone.
- Operational logs (timestamps, status codes, request ids
and account identifiers — never transcripts, audio or analysis) may persist in
server logs for a short period before rotating out.
- Telemetry sent by a paired watch, which identifies the
device and carries no account id at all — there is nothing in it to attribute
to you.
Delete individual things instead
If you want to keep your account and remove only part of it:
- A recording or session — open Recordings, pick the
session, tap Delete. This removes its stored audio, its video,
its transcript and its analysis, and revokes every share on it.
- Your voiceprint — Settings → Voice →
Forget my voice. Your voice signature is erased permanently. There is no
tombstone and no backup copy.
- One enrolled person — Settings → People, pick the
person, delete. Removes that person's voice signature.
- One voice sample — Settings → Voice, in the
samples list. Deleting the last sample deletes the whole voiceprint.
- Access you granted someone — open the session, open its
share list, remove the person. Their access ends immediately.
- A therapist link — on the therapist card, tap
Unlink. Note that unlinking stops future sharing; it
does not retroactively un-share sessions already granted. Remove those from
each session's share list.
If you can no longer sign in
The in-app path needs you to be signed in — that is how we know the request
is really yours, and it is why we can act on it instantly. If you have lost
access to the account, email us and we will do it by hand:
Email a deletion request
Write to sagearbor@gmail.com with
the subject "MindShift account deletion" and the email address
on the account, from that address if you still can. We complete it within
30 days, usually much sooner, and reply to confirm. If you do
not hear back within 30 days, email again — it means the first one did not
arrive.
